Delivering the Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 Awareness Course.  Duration - 1 Day    

  

Target participant Group

The course is designed for those working in a care setting who may be required to deliver the half-day Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007  awareness course to their staff. It is anticipated that participants will have a basic knowledge of the Act.  They could have gained this by attending the Awareness Course or by reading the Scottish Government’s “Short Introduction to Part 1 of the Act”.

 

Course Overview

The course aims to give participants an insight into how to deliver the half-day Awareness Course to staff and volunteers working with older people and/or their carers, in community, day care, residential, or hospital settings.

 

It will cover techniques for training, facilitation and presentation including preparing for course, engaging with participants and using course materials.

 

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will:

• Know how to deliver the half-day Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 Awareness Course

• Have increased ability to manage a group and deal with participants

• Have knowledge of different techniques for course delivery

• Have a toolkit to help them deliver a successful awareness session
